Great stage for smart innovators

Hamburg, 12 September 2024 - Hendrik Kramer, CEO of the technology company FERNRIDE, is the Logistics Leader of the Year 2024.  The Logistics Hall of Fame, an international industry initiative, honours Kramer's pioneering ideas for automated road transport and the successful development and implementation of a 'Human-Assisted Autonomy' solution for lorries. Hamburg-based intralogistics specialist STILL is the sponsor of the 'Logistics Leader of the Year' award. On 5 December, Frank Müller, Senior Vice President Sales & Service Business Development at STILL, will present the coveted trophy at the Logistics Hall of Fame Gala at the Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin.

The 'Logistics Leader of the Year' 2024 award, sponsored by STILL, goes to Hendrik Kramer, CEO of the technology company FERNRIDE. The industry initiative 'Logistics Hall of Fame' honours his pioneering ideas for automated road transport and the successful development and implementation of a 'Human Assisted Autonomy' solution for lorries.

Hendrik Kramer, CEO and co-founder of the technology company FERNRIDE, is convinced that the current and future challenges facing the logistics industry can only be met by using intelligent automation solutions. He himself is making an important contribution with his innovative 'Human-Assisted Autonomy' solution for lorries. The hybrid system combines autonomous driving technology with human intelligence, allowing lorries to be driven without a driver, but monitored by remote operators. If necessary, they can intervene in the driving process at any time.

In addition to the innovative power of the product, Hendrik Kramer impressed the jury with his entrepreneurial and social vision. According to the jury, his system will help drive the energy transition, increase industry profit margins, alleviate the global driver shortage, improve the safety of logistics workers and significantly increase the status of the driving profession.

"Especially in the face of great challenges and necessary transformations, the economy needs courageous decision-makers who actively help to shape the future," emphasises Frank Müller, Senior Vice President Sales & Service Business Development at STILL. "At STILL, we know from our own experience that big goals are often achieved in small steps. This makes it all the more important to take the first step and build bridges between the current circumstances and needs of customers and employees on the one hand, and our own vision for the future on the other. With this in mind, the FERNRIDE lorry automation solution is an important milestone on the road to automated logistics, offering customers a smart way to enter the world of autonomous road transport."
