Material and data flows management

MMS Hardware

In the context of the STILL material flow management system, the term hardware refers to all the components forming a system together with the software. Hardware refers to everything having to do with computers and network – work stations, servers, wireless communication equipment and terminals such as truck-mounted terminals handhelds, mobile and stationary label printers and scanners. Other components like transponders (RFID) and mobile work places for goods received and for order picking are also referred to as hardware. Beside a broad range of hardware components from renowned manufactures, STILL also offers its own hardware components, for example, the STILL Touch Terminal and the STILL Pick-by-Voice components.

The STILL Touch Terminal - The on bord connection with the STILL MMS

Computer controlled material flow management systems require a resilient terminal on board of the trucks to withstand the strain of every day work. The STILL Touch Terminal creates an online connection between the truck and the computer controlling the flow of material in the warehouse and the movement of the trucks. Transport jobs are directly indicated on board of the truck. Retrievals, inventories and other transactions are booked online. However, user-friendliness has topmost priority.

The STILL Touch Terminal has been especially developed to resist the tough conditions of industrial applications and deploys a technology designed for constant use. The STILL Touch Terminal is ideally suited for mobile as well as for stationary applications in production, commerce and logistics.

The STILL Touch Terminal provides a large, high contrast display with a size of 10.4 inch, clearly depicting also complex data and graphical images. It is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 16 GB flash memory and is suitable for outdoor operation at temperatures between -30 and +40 degrees Celsius. It is also IP 65 protected.

All STILL counterbalance as well as VNA warehouse trucks can be equipped with an electric and mechanic interface for the STILL Touch Terminal if the customer wishes so. The mechanical interface complies with the VESA 75 standard.
