STILL supports children's and youth projects in Hamburg with an annual donation and long-term cooperation
As in previous years, STILL is supporting socially disadvantaged children and young people in Hamburg - including donations totalling 15,000 euros to three Hamburg institutions: the Mittagskinder Foundation, the Wilhelmsburg Production School and the Kultur Palast Hamburg Foundation. The donations were presented last week at the STILL Christmas Market.
Last Friday STILL celebrated the start of the holiday season at its Hamburg site. With the annual STILL Christmas Market on the factory premises, the company thanked its employees for their commitment and loyalty over the past year. The management treated the workforce to a variety of delicacies and a varied programme created a festive atmosphere.
15,000 euros for social organisations
Among the guests were representatives of the three Hamburg social organisations that STILL has supported for many years: Dörte Inselmann, Chairwoman and Director of the Kultur Palast Hamburg Foundation, Susann Grünwald, Chairwoman of the Board of the Mittagskinder Foundation, and Bera Bischoff, Head of Vocational Training at the Wilhelmsburg Production School. Dr Florian Heydenreich, member of the STILL Board of Management, presented each of them with a cheque for 5,000 euros. He emphasised: “Shaping the future is one of the main pillars of our corporate philosophy. This includes giving children and young people the best possible start, equal opportunities and participation in education, culture and social interaction. We are therefore delighted to support the valuable work of our partner organisations here in Hamburg, the home of the STILL brand.”
STILL works closely with the social organisations far beyond the annual donation. In addition to joint activities, this includes, for example, stage performances by Kulturpalast dance and singing groups at major STILL events.
Giving children and young people a future: The organisations
The Mittagskinder Foundation regularly provides around 200 children in Hamburg with a healthy lunch. They also receive affection, companionship and qualified help with their homework.
The Kultur Palast Hamburg Foundation has been promoting cultural understanding through integrative music and dance projects for more than 40 years.
The Wilhelmsburg Production School is particularly committed to equal access to education. Here, young people who have had a difficult start in life are trained for the transition to the labour market, particularly in the vocational fields of metal, wood, catering, retail and hairdressing.
