STILL donates 15,000 euros to children's and youth projects in Hamburg
As in previous years, STILL continues to support three organisations in Hamburg that help children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in the city. The company donated a total of 15,000 euros this year to the Mittagskinder Foundation, the Wilhelmsburg Production School and the Kultur Palast Hamburg Foundation. STILL also supports these organisations in practical ways, for example by helping young people to get a start in their careers.
All three projects aim to give children from difficult social backgrounds equal access to education, culture and social interaction, thereby providing them with the best possible starting point for a happy, successful and self-determined life. STILL has been supporting these institutions for a number of years, in part with an annual donation of 5,000 euros each. In addition, the company maintains regular personal contact with the institutions and provides them with practical support. In cooperation with the Wilhelmsburg Production School, for example, STILL offers internships, company tours and even apprenticeships. "As a company with a long tradition in Hamburg, we have not only an economic but also a social responsibility for the city and the people who live here," explains Dr Florian Heydenreich, Executive Vice President Sales & Service STILL EMEA. "Providing children and young people with continuous guidance, orientation and support on their way to adulthood is an important and rewarding task that we at STILL are very happy to fulfil - and it is a valuable investment in the future". This week, he personally handed over the donations to the institutions and took the opportunity to meet those responsible and get a first-hand impression of their work.
About the organisations
Around 200 children in Hamburg regularly receive a healthy lunch from the Mittagskinder foundation. They also enjoy attention, companionship and qualified help with their homework.
The Kultur Palast Hamburg Foundation has been promoting cultural understanding through integrative music and dance projects for more than 40 years.
The Wilhelmsburg Production School is particularly committed to equal access to education. It trains young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to enter the job market, particularly in the metal, wood, catering, retail and hairdressing trades.
