Scalable, flexible, efficient: STILL presents integrated automation solution iGo

Few market segments in logistics are as dynamic as automation. Opportunities, requirements and business conditions change rapidly and can result in the need to adapt existing systems at short notice. This makes it all the more important to have customised and scalable solutions that can be flexibly implemented and adapted, are easy to maintain and service, and grow with the needs of the company.

Smart from the start: Integrated STILL iGo automation

In addition to scalability, the logistics automation segment is currently characterised by a growing demand for simple, quick-to-implement solutions for automating individual logistics processes, which also enable companies with little automation experience to make a smart start in automation. With iGo, STILL offers a comprehensive automation solution that enables all stages of automation to be implemented flexibly and scalably - regardless of whether a company wants to start with the automation of individual process steps or implement a comprehensive system solution with integration into existing infrastructures. "Thanks to our flexible and modular software, our customers don't have to commit themselves in the long term to the desired level of automation and the extent to which processes should be integrated in the future," explains Dr Florian Heydenreich, Executive Vice President Sales & Service STILL EMEA. "STILL iGo is scalable, easy to service and maintain thanks to standardised, digitised components, and can cover the entire spectrum of automation, from simple plug-and-play solutions to comprehensive system solutions - smart, flexible and efficient".

To illustrate the wide range of possibilities, STILL is presenting two live scenarios for the first time at this year's trade fair.

STILL iGo easy: Automation according to the plug-and-play principle

In the iGo easy scenario, interested trade fair visitors will be able to interactively experience the new STILL plug-and-play solution for quick and easy automation of individual logistics processes for the first time, using the EXV iGo high lift pallet truck as an example. In addition to presentations by STILL experts, visitors will have the opportunity to configure parameters such as the route and handover stations of the automated truck themselves during the demo sessions. "Easy commissioning is an important decision criterion for many of our customers when choosing the right automation system," explains Dr Florian Heydenreich. In addition, iGo easy impresses with its scalability - and its compatibility with the STILL iGo systems solution. "If a company grows and is confronted with increasing challenges, growing complexity and changing conditions, an uncomplicated transition from iGo easy to iGo systems is possible," continues Dr Heydenreich.

STILL iGo systems: The highly customised automation solution

A second live scenario demonstrates how STILL iGo systems can be used to automate comprehensive logistics processes. Different automated solutions interact with each other on the stand and impressively demonstrate the high variance and possible complexity of automated STILL warehouse solutions. In perfectly harmonised interaction, stationary solutions such as the flexible STILL pallet shuttle warehouse iGo cube interact with automated series production vehicles such as the MX-X iGo order picking stacker truck and the EXV iGo high lift pallet truck and even autonomous mobile robots such as the ACH iGo.

Sustainability in intralogistics: STILL presents smart energy solutions and circular concepts

Sustainability is one of the main themes at this year's trade fair in Stuttgart. The STILL trade fair team has some exciting news in store here too - for example, the first in-house 24 V fuel cell system manufactured by STILL at its Hamburg plant, or the topic of lithium-ion recycling. The STILL experts will explain to customers how STILL, together with the Canadian recycling specialist Li-Cycle, is closing the recycling loop for lithium-ion batteries.

A holistic approach to sustainability: Taking responsibility for resources at trade fairs

As part of a holistic sustainability strategy, STILL has examined not only its products but also its own trade fair presence in terms of resource conservation and CO2 reduction, and has initiated first optimisation measures. The findings will be used as a basis for further adjustments at future events. The measures implemented for LogiMAT 2024 focus on aspects such as regional procurement, waste reduction and the consideration of social and environmental criteria when selecting partners and suppliers, as well as recycling the exhibition stand. STILL is also leading the way here and is the first LogiMAT exhibitor to cooperate with the Leipzig-based start-up company Trash Galore. The company specialises in the professionally organised reuse of exhibition stands and provides charitable organisations in the region with materials such as wood, metal, flooring and textiles that cannot be recycled from exhibition or event stands. Around 1 tonne of material from STILL's 612 square metre stand at LogiMAT will be given a "second life" by Trash Galore in the Stuttgart area, while the rest of the stand's material will be largely reused by the stand construction company.
