Logistics Leader of the Year 2024

FERNRIDE founder Hendrik Kramer is the Logistics Leader of the Year 2024

The jury of the Logistics Hall of Fame has made its decision: Hendrik Kramer is the Logistics Leader of the Year 2024.
Together with the Logistics Hall of Fame, STILL honours the winner of what is probably the most important award for pace and trendsetters in logistics every year. Kramer, CEO and co-founder of FERNRIDE, has developed an innovative automation solution for commercial vehicles. With his vision of "Human Assisted Autonomy", his company, founded in 2019, enables trucks to move without a driver. As the founder of the award, we offer three insights into the innovations that have made Kramer a key contributor to the logistics industry and won him this year's award.

Who will be the Logistics Leader 2024?
... one who builds bridges into the future

"The winner doesn't wait for the future, he shapes it. With a transition strategy. And full risk."
This year, the jury of the Logistics Hall of Fame has selected a young entrepreneur who has had the courage to develop a business model that is ahead of its time, but also practical. Strictly speaking, the business model is not yet a business model, but it has already impressively demonstrated its viability. The entrepreneur's goal is to build a tech company that aims to do nothing less than fundamentally transform logistics. He is not the only one who believes he can achieve this.
He is not waiting for technology and legislation to work together. Transition is the key to democratising and shaping technology. A true bridge builder to the future.

Who will be the Logistics Leader 2024?
... a game changer for an entire profession

"His working environment looks like a gaming centre. But he's not a gamer. He is a game changer." The Logistics Leader of the Year 2024 and his company are solving one of the biggest structural problems facing the logistics industry: the global shortage of drivers. Anyone who thinks about autonomous driving is not entirely wrong, but only half right. This transformation has the potential to fundamentally enhance the value of an entire profession. At the same time, it will make the working conditions for people in logistics much more attractive. An absolute game changer, the Logistics Leader of the Year 2024!

Who will be the Logistics Leader 2024?
... an enabler for automation solutions

"He is an enabler. His mission is to build partnerships and get people involved."
For the Logistics Leader of the Year 2024, automation is the only way to transform the logistics industry and make a real contribution to the energy transition. According to the jury, his initiative is helping to increase the profit margins of logistics companies. But more than that, it creates viable transitions that involve people and companies. As the Logistics Leader puts it: "The response to our technological approach has been very, very good because we can make sure that it works 100 per cent reliably and that people are brought on board step by step. In the long term, we want our technology to work not just somewhere, but everywhere, globally and with many customers." A true enabler, in other words.

The decision for the Logistics Leader of the Year

An international jury of 70 industry experts from business, science and the media selected Hendrik Kramer as Logistics Leader of the Year 2024 in a multi-stage selection process. "With his entrepreneurial spirit, Hendrik Kramer has created the basis for a safe entry into autonomous, electric driving. His initiative contributes to the energy transition and helps to increase the profit margins of logistics companies, address the global driver shortage and improve the safety of logistics employees, while supporting the logistics industry in its transformation to future-proof operations and processes. Well chosen, judges. Well deserved, Hendrik Kramer!"

Logistics Leader of the Year 2023

Following a complex selection process, a jury of 70 industry experts from politics, business, science and the media honoured two in 2023 who embody this courage to change: Harry Seifert and Axel Frey. Together, the Chairman of the Advisory Board and the CEO of the Seifert Logistics Group have driven forward a remarkable strategic transformation of the medium-sized logistics service provider under the motto "Full speed ahead", which is visible in countless large and small details, but has become even more of a beacon for logistics.
A transformation that focuses on employees, digitalisation and sustainable growth.
